Mr. Pibb , a 5 year old 45lb male neutered beagle boxer mix, was taken in as a stray to the Pinal County Animal Control in December 2021 . Despite numerous attempts to contact the owners listed on his microchip, no one ever came to reclaim him.
Mr. Pibb came in originally with mild weakness in his hind limbs which progressed quickly to paralysis within 48 hours of intake. Mr Pibb was diagnosed with valley fever in his spine, which caused his paralysis. Since starting treatment, Mr Pibb has regained some control of his back legs and although he cannot walk, he is now able to stand on his own. Mr Pibb is urinary and fecal incontinent, but with time, we are hopeful he will regain control over his legs, bladder and bowel, however he will likely require long term medical care.
Despite losing use of his back legs, Mr. Pibb hasn’t missed a step. He loves all people and wants to be the center of attention. He accepts the company of other dogs, but can become jealous over treats and attention, and does not do well with cats. He is an independent boy who loves to wheel around in his cart, he adores people and gives the best kisses.
We are currently looking for a long term foster or forever home for Mr Pibb. Please contact Benarda if interested!
